Conversion Funnel

A conversion funnel is the series of steps a visitor takes toward a goal — for example, land on page → view product → add to cart → checkout → purchase. It’s called a funnel because people drop off at each step, so fewer reach the end than began.

Why it matters

The funnel shows you where you’re losing people, not just that you are. A big drop between cart and checkout points to a specific, fixable problem — far more useful than the overall conversion rate alone. Fix the leakiest step and everything downstream improves.

In GA4

Funnel exploration lets you build and inspect these steps. The biggest single drop-off is usually where your attention belongs.
