llms.txt is an emerging standard: a simple text file at the root of your site (like robots.txt) that gives AI models a clean, curated guide to your most important content — what it is and where to find it — in a format they can read easily.

Why it matters

As AI assistants become a real source of discovery, llms.txt is an early attempt to help them understand and cite your site accurately rather than guessing from raw HTML. Adoption is still early and not universally honoured, but it’s low-cost and signals where AI-era SEO is heading.

A caveat
